Driving My Friend
Stolen moments with my friend,
Honored by his necessity,
Driving him to where doctors defend,
Against his morphing cancer’s potpourri,
But presently our words transcend,
A vulnerable generosity,
Words and laughter is how we spend,
These grateful moments between two friends.
Miles pass by without notice,
Although time evaporates – joy has not.
Arriving in hope’s prognosis,
Our hug defines what a handshake cannot,
Parting in happy slowness,
Humbled to support his net with a knot,
Assuring my friend we have not forgot.
Grateful to offer the love God extends,
Thank You Lord for the stolen moments with my friend.
Through Him all things are possible my friend.
Bless you Kev.
