Unshakable

Fragile and unpredictable is our future pulled by the gravity of time.  The human facade has no capacity to slow the consequence as all are hurried towards mortality.  Death is certain by an unpredictable fate. Nevertheless, hope in the very conqueror of death, the Christ of God, provides a peace unbound from the effects of time. Although we see our crumbling realities through the lens of hope, we are unshakable.

Unshakable

Once more He will shake
The earth and heaven
surviving the quake
Cannot be shaken

Lord make me unshakable
Lord make me unshakable
Amidst the ruins of mortality
Toppling soft facades of self confidence
Collapsing into sad duality
Lord make me unshakable.

Uncontrollable
A consuming fire
Unstoppable
Wrath’s funeral pyre

Worthless and sinful
Burn and crumble
Remaining faithful
Are unshakable

Stone towers of love
Stand before their Master
A new Kingdom stands willing and able
A new Kingdom stands unshakable

Lord make me unshakable
Lord make me unshakable
Amidst the ruins of mortality
Toppling soft facades of self confidence
Collapsing into sad duality
Lord make me unshakable.

25 See to it that you do not refuse him who speaks. If they did not escape when they refused him who warned them on earth, how much less will we, if we turn away from him who warns us from heaven? 26 At that time his voice shook the earth, but now he has promised, “Once more I will shake not only the earth but also the heavens.”[e] 27 The words “once more” indicate the removing of what can be shaken—that is, created things—so that what cannot be shaken may remain.

28 Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe, 29 for our “God is a consuming fire.” (Hebrews 12:25-29)

His Peace,
Chris
