Be Still

The gentle and patient handling of our curious souls thrust into bright lights, vibrant colors, and luscious sounds offers escape a holy, narrow path to solitude. Oh, and how, the stillness beckons us with the good and beautiful things that promise to fill a yearning heart. This choice is chosen in as much hope as in trust because of an immense love carefully gathering our rambunctious wills.

This Quiet

This quiet,
Stolen by the heart,
A forbidden tryst,
Rejoins its lost part,
One flesh, two souls kiss,
Within the quiet,
This stillness,
Wild Love reigns free,
Within dawn’s wet pasture,
Fertile is His Will,
Translucent, foggy mist,
Alerted by songbirds shrill,
Two souls just exist,
This knowing,
This Lover’s embrace,
Irresistible to touch,
Gathers within a cloud,
Wonder incarnates,
Thoughts burst aloud,
Hearts vibrate,
As One,
Holy,
Moment in time.
This quiet.
Come to the
Quiet.

Listen Up…

Listen To My Son

Listen to My Son,
In Him I Am well pleased,
He is My Word made flesh,
Whose whisper calms the sea,
Whose name when mentioned heals,
and from which Satan flees.
My glory shines within his eyes,
Casting angels to their knees.
He is The Resurrection,
A Saving Prince of Peace,
He is your Good Shepherd,
Sacrificed for his sheep,
He is The Bread of God,
You must eat to increase,
He is Aleph v’Tav,
Who makes the unborn leap,
Your Prophet, Priest, and King,
For whom all sinners weep.
The firstborn of the dead,
Returning as a thief,
Be watchful and listen,
And pray before you sleep.

Listen to My Son,
In Him I AM well pleased.

Mercy’s Riddle

The way to God is down, through our mistakes…not up through spiritual elitism and perfection.  Spiritual poverty is the joy in not taking ourselves too seriously. Therefore the mere concept of Divine Mercy leaves us puzzled and bankrupt in this return on God’s investment.  There is nothing that God offers as a gift that can find hospitality within our ego despite the soul’s yearnful immersion into it. The answer to this divine riddle is not simply accepting our imperfection, but embracing it as diversity, as community, as one body alive and awake.

Mercy’s Riddle

Naked and battered,
Hope’s crushing loss,
Death claims victory,
Pegged to a cross.
The soul understands,
This contradiction,
Ego fails to grasp,
Victory’s Passion.
Heaven’s inheritance,
Is riddled through mercy,
The last shall be first,
Incarnates humility.
